Differences

You know what they said, there are so many differences between a guy and a girl. There are also many differences between a new relationship as compared to an old one.

The thing is BF is not in town. He's somewhere out in the mountains in Indonesia. Maybe it was because work was hectic today so I hardly had time to spare to think about him. In fact, I have to admit that I feel kind of...comfortable not being in contact with him but when I reached home and I had some time to myself, I can't help but remembered that when I went to Bali for one whole week about two years ago, I called him almost every night. My bill for that trip was astronomical. I did get two SMSes from him on Sunday and that's it. Other than that, no calls. Maybe it's too early. Maybe he will call later on this week. Who knows?

I'm not feeling indignant or neglected or whatever. I just think that there is always a stark difference in behavior between guys and girls in a relationship. Even when it comes to overseas phonecalls.

Or maybe cause the relationship is getting on its years. Yeah, dah tua. Honeymoon period is LOOOOOONG over. We are at the stage where we are just too comfortable with each other. I have no urge and no motivation to push this relationship to another level which is marriage so this relationship will just remain status quo for now. Unless the BF becomes the Fiance or something like that which I don't think will ever happen in the near future.

An acquaintance got married by performing the akad nikah first while the wedding reception will be held next year. I prefer that! A little like what those Chinese couples do but knowing how we Malays tend to jaga our waterface, there is no way in hell I can do that. I mean by getting that certificate, a couple can prioritise and set aside money for the house first but if the wife gets pregnant before the wedding reception then people will think she has a child out of wedlock when in actual fact, they are already legally married. Why is it that a Malay wedding seems to be dictated by what other people think?
